Custom Search
Episode: "Crocodile"

Victim name: Matt Chambers

Age/Occupation:35/Unemployed

Where/how Dexter stalks victim: Dexter continued to sit in on Chambers' trial, watching Chambers hide behind a mask of empathy and sympathy for his addiction and recovery. Chambers used his AA sponsor to vouch for his false recovery. But after Chambers was found not guilty, Dexter overheard him talking to his lawyer about having beat the system. Dexter trailed Chambers to a sports bar where he found him drinking, (clearly not recovered) and got some face-time, where he learned that Chambers moves from place to place. He also pocketed Chambers' drinking glass.

Why victim deserves it:
Chambers repeatedly drives drunk, and uses the pretense of AA recovery to get a lesser sentence. After fulfilling his decreased sentence, Chambers moves from city to city, changing his name to avoid further prosecution. Chambers is clearly not recovered. In each city, he repeats his bad behavior without remorse.

Victim's victims:Alexander Pryce (18) and at least two to three more from other towns where he had already been and changed his name.

Dexter's kill methods and rituals: Abandoned Liquor Store. Covered in plastic. Laptop played footage of Alexander Pryce's last Christmas. Walls lined with news clippings of New Mexico and Massachusetts victims.

Victim's last words: Victims Defense "I was set up... I didn't do anything." Victims Confession "It was me... only it wasn't me. It was the booze... it takes me over. I'm sorry."

Dexter's last words to victim: "You've done this too many times to be sorry."

Location of killing: Abandoned Liquor Store.

Close calls/slip-ups: Debra texts Dexter while he is outside the abandoned liquor store preparing for the kill. She says she needs to talk to him about something important.
